Fee Structure

Financial Planning

We charge by the hour or a simple flat fee for financial planning. For most people, the flat fee for financial planning is $1,000. Half of which is due upfront and the remainder is due after the plan has been delivered.

Hourly Consulting

Our hourly consulting services are offered in the following areas:

  • Social Security consulting
  • Financial/Retirement Planning

My initial consultation rate is $250.
If your case takes more than one hour (and we will discuss this before we get started) I charge an additional $200 per hour.

Investment Management

If you would like help with investment management, our fee schedule is based on a percentage of assets under management. We try to keep those management costs as low as possible so you can keep more of what you earn, which puts you closer to your goals faster.

Asset-Based Fees

In the asset-based fee model my services are offered for a fee which is based on the amount of your assets under management. This fee covers your ongoing investment management, financial consulting and retirement planning needs. For example, if we manage $500,000 of your assets, and your fee is 1%, you will see deductions to your account of $5,000 over the course of one year.

My fees under this arrangement are as follows:

We will discuss all fee arrangements and reach an agreement, up front, before any investment decisions are made.


The financial planning fees (fees) described above may increase or decrease depending upon the complexity of your individualized financial plan or the assets upon which your financial plan is based. Financial plans are sold pursuant to a Financial Planning Agreement (FPA) between Voya Financial Advisors, Inc. (VFA) and you, the client, pursuant to the terms and conditions contained therein. Please consult the fee listed on the FPA for the fee applicable to your financial plan. In the event of a discrepancy between the fees listed above and the fee listed on your FPA, the fee listed on your FPA will control.
